[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]If you were to meet me today, you would most likely think that I have been a supporter of the cannabis industry for decades. This, in fact, is not the case. Not that I was ever anti-cannabis, but I was not one that enjoyed using it recreationally.
Five years ago, I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease. After years of misdiagnosis and confusion, I finally received an answer to what was ailing me. Unfortunately, because the diagnosis took so long, I had already had irreparable damage to my system that resulted in a rupture of my intestinal track. Gross right? I know it is hard for people to discuss things that we consider taboo, but this ordeal led me to for a solution that I would never have considered in my past.
I want to be clear that modern medicine saved my life, but the long-term effects of the opioids I was prescribed following five abdominal surgeries started to take a tole on my body and mental well-being. It should come as no surprise that opioids can be very addictive, and this was something that I started to experience first-hand. Becoming aware of the path I was starting down; I decided to do research into medicinal cannabis and how it could assist me.
By talking to educated people in the industry; I learned how to properly dose and utilize this miraculous plant to assist in mitigating my pain, inflammation and related sleep issues. I cannot stress enough how grateful I am that cannabis came into my life. Today I am as pro-cannabis as you can get, but I do understand that there are still many people who have concerns or fear associated with the industry. To those I would say “Ask questions: go to your local provisioning center and speak with a budtender” Information is powerful, and I can assure you that in this industry, there are plenty of people who would love to help empower you![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
